NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, SHOW PROVEN LEADERSHIP AT DECA INTERNATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE.

DECA ICDC

This past week was a big week for our DECA students here at Northwood University. Students traveled to Washington D.C. to compete at DECA ICDC, the International Career Development Conference. While at the conference, several Northwood Students were chosen to lead DECA for the 2018-19 Academic Year.

2018-19 Academic Year College DECA Leadership

  •  International Collegiate DECA Vice President, Allison Brown (Current NU undergraduate student, entering DeVos Graduate School of Management, Fall 2018).
  • Michigan Collegiate DECA President, Annelise Norton (Current NU undergraduate student)
  • Michigan Collegiate DECA Vice President, Michael Wills (Current Delta College student entering Northwood via 3 + 1 program Fall 2018)
  • Michigan Collegiate DECA Secretary, Richard Ascherl(Current NU undergraduate student)

We had the opportunity to speak with Allison Brown about her new position as Vice President of International Collegiate DECA and this is what she had to say:DECA ICDC

I was honored to represent Northwood University and Michigan Collegiate DECA at the Collegiate International Career Development Conference and run for Executive Office. Over this next year I will have the privilege of serving as Vice President of Collegiate DECA and serve alongside four talented individuals on the Executive Officer Team. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, the Northwood team, my campaign manager Annelise Norton and my advisor John Gustincic. Annelise was with me every step of the way and set up meetings, ordered giveaways and even made sure that I got food! The week in DC would not have been successful without her. The support that John Gustincic has given me over the past few years in DECA has encouraged me to compete while also being the Vice President for MI and then the President of MI Collegiate DECA as well. The opportunities he has given me as well as Northwood University have been limitless, and I look forward to working with all of the DECA Collegians in the future!

Congratulations to everyone who competed in Washington D.C. and to the newly elected DECA Leadership from Northwood University!
