Excelling in an Emerging Discipline
Northwood University’s Operations and Supply Chain Management major is only six years old, but the list of students excelling in this program is growing. Like many of our specialty business offerings, students have the unique opportunity to learn under business professionals that have worked in the industry for many years. One example is current senior, Riley Olsen, who recently received a scholarship in logistics and supply chain management from the Transportation Club of Detroit.
Riley says Northwood has given him the ability to experience a unique hands-on learning approach to education. He has been able to acquire multiple internships in his field of study, such as his logistics internship with Michigan Sugar Company, where he was hired due to his educational background and ability to implement the information he has learned at Northwood. This has given him a strong network and a step up from other university graduates as he looks toward graduation this fall.
Riley says he feels fully prepared to graduate and work in the Supply Chain Industry because his professors, like Doug Hentschel and Dr. Kevin McCormack, have taught him high-quality information that translates seamlessly into a real-world setting. Hear Riley talk more about his Northwood experience here.
From our industry-expert faculty who truly value student success, to getting our students into their specialty majors their freshman year so they can find their passion sooner, Northwood University truly pushes our students to discover and tap into that drive within them, their True North.
Have a great weekend!
