It Starts With a Handshake
This past Wednesday, Northwood University welcomed 90 businesses to our Hach Student Life Center for our annual fall Career Fair. This event gave students the opportunity to connect with organizations from across the nation, and network with business professionals as they prepare start their business careers. These events are important for our students as they acquire the internships and experience that helps to set them apart after they graduate. In fact, this past summer presented more new, paid internships for Northwood students than years before. They are sought after in many industries even as they complete their freshman and sophomore years because they are getting classes in their major sooner than their peers. All of these experiences add up to big opportunities for Northwood University students, and that is something to get excited about.
This year, Northwood’s Career Advancement team also introduced a new networking platform for our students, faculty and alumni called Handshake. Here, students are able to look for jobs and network with other companies at more than 200,000 employers. The value of a handshake, whether it’s real or virtual, is in the important connections we make with one another.
Have a great weekend!
