Three Northwood University students received news last week of an exciting award borne from a very familiar task: experiential learning. From an ordinary rubber band, these students devised a re-imagined use intended to save energy and created a video pitch to be judged against dozens of competitors. We are proud to announce Northwood’s team were the DECA Idea Challenge Global Collegiate Team winners! You can watch the entire pitch video here:
It’s fitting that I may remind some of the film ‘Groundhog Day’ in today’s message as I mention experiential learning once again, but there’s just no getting around what sets Northwood apart. Competitions reaching across state lines and around the world help us to keep our competitive edge and earn our outstanding students the recognition they work hard to earn.
Recently our mock trial team has found success as they compete to earn their ticket to national competition. Also working hard at national forensic challenges are the students of our competitive speech team. As the semester progresses I look forward to seeing more and more good news about Northwood University students in the real world learning through their experiences and competition.
Have a great weekend!
