Students in Northwood’s DeVos Graduate School MBA program take part in a semester-long project where they serve as consultants to a real-life business. The fieldwork course is a critical part of their experience here at Northwood, requiring them to apply all the knowledge they have acquired along the way as they work with clients to develop a marketing strategy. Watch this video to see how the students handle the project, and what they thought of the process.
DeVos students benefit from the opportunity to apply their skills, and so do the businesses they serve. They learn from each other as they come up with a strategic marketing plan for the business, and become teachers along the way. This is a key part of the Northwood Idea - providing value to one another through problem-solving and the learning process. These MBA students exemplify productive effort as they overcome obstacles, solve problems, and achieve the goals they set for themselves and their businesses.
I want to extend a special thanks to Northwood’s good friends at Midland Tomorrow’s Innovation Center for connecting our students to local start-ups. Thank you also to the businesses and clients who helped our students gain this valuable experience:
- Adult Foster/Memory Care
- Ferne Boutique
- Frankenmuth Farmer’s Market and Food Incubator
- Fresh Aire Samaritan Counseling Center
- The Table Restaurant
- TyCal, Ltd.
- Zuti Facemasks
Congratulations to all our graduate students this semester on the completion of their fieldwork course. I look forward to watching these DeVos students wrap up their degrees next month during business simulation, our intensive capstone project!
Have a great weekend!
