Northwood’s Entertainment and Sports Management Symposium was hosted last week on our Midland campus, and featured more than 20 industry professionals speaking on topics such as breaking into the sports industry and marketing today. Northwood alumnus Mark Zimmerman returned to campus for the ESPM Symposium. Mark, a former Timberwolf football player, has been the General Manager at the Georgia World Congress Center for more than 30 years. He is an example of what experiential learning in college offers, and shared that expertise with our students.
ESPMA Symposium was a great success, and students from all majors across our campus and from other universities learned the importance of networking and industry connections. Student leaders helped to plan, promote and host the event, gaining even deeper knowledge of that process. Northwood students learn by doing, and their valuable experiences now make them invaluable employees when they graduate.
We look forward to the next opportunity to showcase our student’s talents and to watch them grow through application.
Have a great weekend!
