Spring often flies by at our university as we plan and host events and celebrations, and relish the return of weather that gets us back outside. It had been an active spring for Northwood University, and one that has seen academic, club, personal, organizational and athletic successes across the board. Last Sunday afternoon, April 23, students, faculty and staff celebrated academic excellence and recognized outstanding service at our annual Honors Convocation. The themes of service and excellence are central to the Northwood Idea, and this was a celebration of the many accomplishments of our outstanding students. You can read the full list of awardees by clicking here. It was also a fitting wrap-up to a year where we issued our Northwood community the challenge to “Go MAD: Go Make a Difference.”
In addition, the Student Leadership Awards were held in honor of the outstanding accomplishments of our student leaders, see photos of the awards here and watch this recap video. Student athletes were also honored Wednesday at the Timby Awards, see the list of nominees by clicking here.
As our students prepare for finals, and many prepare for graduation, we pause to reflect on their efforts above and beyond in pursuing their educational goals. Northwood’s effectiveness as an institution depends on our students’ success and their ability to make a difference. This year we lived up to our theme, and we are truly developing the leaders of a global, free-enterprise society.
Best of luck to our students as they make the final push and take exams next week. To those graduating, we look forward to celebrating your accomplishments at our commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 6.
Have a great weekend!
