The beginning of the 2015-16 academic year is just over a week away. This means our priorities are focused on the short-term: helping new students settle in... giving our returning students a strong start... launching athletic seasons and extracurricular activities. The entire Northwood team is focused on doing this well, and our success will not only impact our incoming freshmen and returning students, it will enable Northwood University to continue to be the premier business school based on free enterprise. There’s another side to our success that is equally important and is becoming increasingly visible, which is the success we will continue to achieve by executing a strong long-term strategy. We have six strategic initiatives at Northwood University that lay out our commitment to invest in people, products, processes and facilities.
These priorities encompass virtually every aspect of university life, from our campus facilities master plan to enrollment, academics, career advancement, corporate programs and the Northwood University experience. We tie this to the Northwood Idea and the principles we hold dear as a university that lives by the tenets of a free enterprise society.
The day-to-day busyness of campus life never interferes with our long-term priorities. At regular intervals, we review and amend our plans, taking into consideration the changing nature of academia, the evolving needs of our learners and the competitive pressures surrounding us.
Our strategy is a compass and a guide, and when executed well, is just as obvious as our smoothly running campus. As we usher in the new academic year, our team is ready for the challenges and opportunities that will surely come our way because we are confident in the strategy that leads us.
Have a good weekend.
