Excitement continues to build – quite literally – on our major system-wide restructuring initiative, Moving Northwood University Forward. Construction on our new DeVos Graduate School Building and renovations to the Bennett Sports Center complex are in full swing. These projects are some of the first steps in this initiative. Our aim with Moving Northwood University Forward is to firmly establish the University as a premier global business institution based on free-enterprise. With these new and upgraded buildings, Northwood will have even better physical spaces for the free flow of ideas and concepts needed to develop strong, business-minded leaders. Be sure to follow our progress on our live construction webcam.
Northwood lost a dear friend this week with the passing of Pat Riepma who served as both Athletic Director and Head Football Coach during his career at Northwood University. Pat was fundamental to the building of the Northwood Athletic Department over the last 21 years. He was the all-time leader in coaching victories for the football program, having won 95 games in his 16-year coaching career. A four-time GLIAC “Coach of the Year,” Pat guided Northwood to three GLIAC Championships and four appearances in the NCAA Playoffs. Much more than simply an administrator or coach, Pat was a friend, role model, mentor, leader, advocate and strong Christian. He was a true Timberwolf and an inspiration to students, faculty and staff. We will miss him dearly and we offer our deepest sympathies to Pat’s family. Please see our website for more information about Pat and his contributions to Northwood, and for funeral and visitation details.
Have a good weekend.
