Today marks the start of the 2014-15 academic year at Northwood University. Consistent with our ONE Northwood campus theme for the year, “Connect for Success,” a significant number of new students are joining our returning students for what promises to be another great year at “The Wood.” In addition to the many traditions and festivities associated with Move-In Day, Crossover, and Welcome Back Weekend on our Florida and Michigan campuses, students have the opportunity to “connect for success” through several fun and exciting events. In West Palm Beach, students will participate in Academic Success Workshops as well as workshops aimed at helping them become actively engaged members of the Seahawk Nation.
Students in Midland will work together to connect with two very important volunteer causes. In support of “Kids Against Hunger”, students will assemble an estimated 1,500 food packets which will be delivered to children and families in need, locally and around the world. They will also put together color packets for the United Way of Midland County’s Second Annual Color Race which takes off from our Midland campus on September 13.
And Northwood administrative and academic personnel are hard at work on everything from new degree offerings and enrollment initiatives to the execution of our new advertising campaign and the final stages of our Capital Campaign.
As we kick off a new year at Northwood University, we should take great pride in celebrating all we accomplished this past year and in knowing we are squarely on track to “Connect for Success” in the year ahead.
Enjoy the weekend.
