Last Saturday, we welcomed guests to our 44th annual Stafford Dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bay City. This year’s theme, Cuisine in the Music Scene, incorporated live music, provided by Cool2Duel, to showcase pieces throughout the ages.
In addition to the entertainment, Angela McGillis was the keynote speaker for the evening. She is a Northwood Alumna, receiving her BBA in Hospitality Management and an MBA from the Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management at Northwood University. She is the Corporate Director of Revenue and Digital Strategy for Hotel Investment Services, Inc. out of Troy, Michigan.
Stafford Dinner is held every year in memory of the first chairman of the Hotel and Resort Management Department, William D. Stafford. From 1969 to 1972, Stafford incorporated his expertise from his years of working in the hospitality industry into his curriculum, leaving a lasting mark on the Hospitality Management Program Northwood has today.
This Scholarship Dinner is planned each year by an Executive Board of handpicked Northwood University Students. The proceeds from the dinner, silent auction and other donations will go towards the William D. Stafford Memorial Scholarship Fund which will be awarded to outstanding students in the Hospitality Management Program.
Congratulations and a job well done to all the students who have worked so hard to make this event possible over the last several months.
Have a great Weekend!
