As the semester comes to a close, students are finishing up with their finals and looking forward to the future. For some, this is their final week in their educational journey, as the graduate at our Winter Commencement Ceremony tomorrow—Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Riepma Arena. If you can’t make it, you can watch the livestream of the ceremony starting at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow on this link.
In all, there are 254 graduates, including 44 students graduating with their master’s degree from the Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management. We have the distinct pleasure to welcome and honor Jim Fitterling, Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company and Chief Operating Officer of DowDuPont’s Material Sciences Division to the university.
Fitterling will be Northwood University’s keynote speaker for the winter commencement ceremony and will be recognized with Northwood’s highest honor, the Honorary Doctor of Laws, for his dedication to business and service within the community. As a member of Dow’s most senior leadership, Jim has played a key role in developing and executing Dow’s strategy to invest in a market-driven portfolio of advantaged and technology-enabled businesses that create value for our shareholders and customers.
We are honored to have Jim here to address our students as they prepare for their bright futures. I wish our students a safe and happy holiday season as they head for break, and hope to see many Northwood friends and family at Winter Commencement tomorrow!
