Over the past couple of years, Northwood has been expanding its on-campus housing, most recently with North Village apartments, completed in the summer of 2017. Our students have been occupying it for about a year and a half, and from these students we have received input and centered our plans for phase two around those student aspirations.
The second phase will be attached to North Village one on all three levels, so students will be able to connect from any of the three floors. It will have a number of different changes from the first North Village, including more furniture, more washers and dryers, and a café.
The café will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and seat about 50 students with added outdoor seating. There will be fewer apartments—only 50 total—but more beds and more four-bedroom apartments, at the request of our students.
All in all, the North Village housing has become one of the most popular places on our campus, and a place we are very proud of. It is funded entirely by our generous donors and will be finished by July 1, of 2019 so our students can move in for fall 2019.
Have a great weekend!
