Mini Career Fair Maximizes Opportunity
Northwood University’s Texas Campus invited four local companies to attend their mini career fair on February 5, 2014. They visited with Northwood University students and discussed career options that are available within a variety of industries and majors which included hospitality, automotive, management, accounting, finance, advertising, marketing, international business and entrepreneurship. Dominique Williams from Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) shared her feedback from the event, “Thank you for the opportunity to meet with your students. I met some awesome future interns and college manager trainees.”
Annette Macias with Asbury Automotive Group David McDavid stated, “We had a great experience there. I have a couple of interviews set up from the event. I also wanted to express how impressed I was with the level of professionalism from the students we spoke to at the event. It is clear Northwood University is working hard to develop your students academically and professionally.”
Celeste Lindell, director of career services said, “With over 40 students attending, the turn out for this event was perfect. The positive responses from students were encouraging. Many commented that they appreciated the ability to increase their business contacts and interact with employment recruiters.”
Northwood freshman Jennifer Rodarte recognized, “The mini career fairs that occur at Northwood are useful for students that are looking for a way to advance and gain experience for their careers and have an opportunity to find internships and good networking.”
With the success of this Mini Career Fair, additional career fairs are scheduled for the next few months in this format as part of a series for Northwood University Texas campus’s spring career services calendar.
